Maersk Line implements Low Water Surcharge for the terminals on Rhine River

The low water situation on the Rhine River remains unsustainable and the water level at Kaub has reached a new record-low (<30 cm) last week, severely impacting operations to the extent that barges are no longer able to pass the “Kaub” measuring point., Maersk said in a media release.

As result, a low water surcharge of EUR 320/20’* and EUR 425/40’* is applicable as from today, November 1, 2018, as long as the water level at Kaub remains below 61cm according to the Electronic Waterways Information System.

*Export shipments: Date of empty container delivery at customer´s facility
