Busan Port Authority(BPA, President Nam Ki-chan) stated that BPA plans to visit top European liners including Hapag-Lloyd(Germany), Maersk(Denmark), MSC(Switzerland), and CMACGM(France).
Given the uncertain circumstances including the trade conflict between the US and China, changing global oil prices, and the 4th industrial revolution, BPA aims to solidify Busan Port’s foothold as world’s 6th largest port and the 2nd transshipment port. In addition, BPA plans to present various advantages of Busan Port and its major issues to European major liners.
Furthermore, BPA will visit Hamburg Port Authority(HPA) in Germany to discuss cooperation between the two ports and logistics efficiency. BPA will also visit Rotterdam Port Authority(RPA) in Netherlands and state of the art automated APMT terminal in order to beef up its automated terminals by adopting APMT’s prowess in cutting-edge technology.
Mr. Nam said “With out visit to European ports, we anticipate to strengthen the competitiveness of Busan Port through increasing cargo volume. In this regard, it is crucial to enhance partnerships with our major clients and ports for continuous development. We will try to identify the trend of global shipping & port markets and draw new strategies for competitiveness of Busan Port.”
