The icebreakers that provided direct assistance for merchant vessel transits to / from the Port of Yeysk this winter navigation have concluded their operations as of midnight, March 1, 2019, PortNews IAA regional correspondent reported citing Yeysk Harbour master Sergey Grechkin’s announcement at a recent video conference meeting of Basin Commission, Rostov-on-Don.
The Yeysk harbormaster signed the corresponding order February 28.
Sergey Grechkin explained that the decision to conclude icebreaking operations was due to the continuing increase in air temperature, the lack of ice cover both in the basin of Port of Yeysk and access channels, as well as to favorable meteorological forecast.
