In January 2007, East-Siberian Railway loaded over 6,000 containers (+15.2%, year-on-year), ESRW’s PR service reports. The result makes 116.1% against plan. Over the reported period the railway transported over 100 thou tons of cargo (+20.3%, year-on-year). The best results were demonstrated by Irkutsk branch – loading exceeded 2.4 thou of containers (122.8% against plan), Taishet branch – over 3 thou containers (106.6% against plan), Ulan-Ude – 0.5 thou (150.4% against plan), Severny Baikal – 0.1 thou containers (154.8% against plan). Large-capacity containers are more widespread. In January 2007, 94.4% of all containerized cargo was transported in large-capacity containers (94.4 thou tons, which makes 104.2% against plan.
