Murmansk Region Governor announces resignation

Murmansk Region Governor Marina Kovtun has announced resignation. According to RIA Novosti, that was announced at the briefing.

The Governor said she had filed a request to Russian President Vladimir Putin for the early termination of her mandate having specified that she would not take part in gubernatorial elections in 2019.

Marina Kovtun had been holding the position of the Murmansk Region Governor from 2012.
