Export transportation of Byelorussian Railways up by 94.5% in 2006
In 2006, Byelorussian Railways increased transportation of export cargo by 94.5% - to 33.7 million tons. The largest share of export was transported to Latvia (44%), RZD-Partner reports with reference to Alexander Evsyuk, Head of marketing and transport logistics department. The company’s import totaled 14.2 million tons (+126.9%, year-on-year). 65% of imported cargo came from Russia, 22% - from Ukraine, 2% - from Latvia and 1% from Lithuania.
