In January 2007, Vostochny Port OJSC handled 1.152 million tons of different cargo (103% of the plan, which was 1.118 million tons), the company’s press release reports.
Specialized Coal Complex handled 1.117 million tons of coal against planned 1.083 million tons (+3%). Multipurpose Transshipment Complex (PPК-1) handled 35.6 thou tons of different cargo against planned 35 thou tons (101.7% of the plan). Export coal is the main cargo handled by Vostochny Port OJSC. In January the company exported 1.131 million tons of coal. According to Sergei Kushnarev, the company’s Director General, this year the company is to continue development of its cargo basis. Kushnarev says the company has concluded contract for transshipment of timber, export and coastal trade coal and general cargo for northern regions.
