A new tugboat delivered to Nakhodka Trade Sea Port will be the third unit of the company’s port fleet. According to the press center of Nakhodka Trade Sea Port, the ship has been acquired under the programme on modernization of the stevedoring company’s production facilities.
The tugboat was built by Damen’s shipyard in China under a supervision of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). Upon completion of sea trials the ship was painted in corporate colours of Nakhodka TSP and was named Peotr.
The 2,600 kW ship was built to a special design taking into consideration weather conditions of Russia. Damen designers paid special attention to environmental sustainability and efficiency of the ship. Apart from high performance and maneuverability, the ship features everything needed for comfortable accommodation of 13 crewmembers.
“The new tugboat will perform a significant mission on safe mooring/unmooring of ships at Nakhodka TSP. Moreover, with its technical characteristics of the new ship, the mooring process will be faster and more efficient”, said Rodion Bespalov, head of the company’s port fleet.
Port fleet of Nakhodka TSP currently numbers 2 tugboat - azimuth tugboat Yermak (2,100 kW) and tugboat Oslyabya (882 kW).
Nakhodka Trade Sea Port is a stevedore company, operator of a terminal in the eastern Gulf of Peter the Great, in the Nakhodka Bay (Primorsky Territory). The port is able to handle up to 580 railcars per day. Warehousing facilities area is 300,000 square meters.
