AFL is hiving off parts of its business and integrating them into the joint venture with Dachser.
The new company has over 30 branches of its own in India. The board members are the AFL chairman and managing director Cyrus Guzder, AFL director Farukh Guzder and the Dachser managing directors Bernhard Simon and Thomas Reuter, while Detlev Janik, incumbent ‘Global Head – Cargo’, AFL, has been appointed CEO of the new joint venture company.
According to Thomas Reuter, managing director of Dachser Air & Sea Logistics, Dachser is systematically expanding its international logistics network, and this joint venture enables the company to offer customers direct access to a key economic region.
Dachser has been working in partnership with AFL for more than ten years. The AFL group is one of India’s biggest logistics providers, and covers the entire country with more than 400 locations, including 16 hubs and 46 hi-tech warehouses.
