In January-May 2019, the Port of St. Petersburg handled 25.01 million tonnes of cargo (+1%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, transshipment of liquid bulk cargo grew by 4% to 3.76 million tonnes, dry bulk cargo – declined by 3% to 3.48 million tonnes, general cargo – down 9% to 5.28 million tonnes, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo – down 8% to 553,8 00 tonnes.
The port’s container throughput increased by 8% to 968,336 TEUs.
In 2018, the port handled 59.32 mln t of cargo, its container throughput was 2.7 mln TEUs.
