In January-June 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs totaled 3.322 million tonnes (-5%, year-on-year), Azov-Don Basin Administration told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period, transportation of transit cargo declined by 1% to 2.972 million tonnes, internal turnover dropped by 32% to 350,000 tonnes.
By July 2019, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 2,065 vessel movements including 936 downward and 1,129 upward (versus 2,113 in the same period of 2018: 999 downward and 1,114 upward).
In June 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin fell by 16%, year-on-year, to 1.285 million tonnes. Transportation of heavy fuel oil accounted for 27.3%, sulphur – for 18.4%, vacuum gasoil – for 11.8%. Transit cargo flow dropped by 15% to 1.161 million tonnes, internal turnover – by 22% to 124,000 tonnes.
In June 2019, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 787 vessel movements including 389 downward and 398 upward (versus 822 in June 2018: 413 downward and 409 upward).
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility Azov-Don Basin Administration is 691.3 kilometers.
