Rosterminalugol JSC says it loaded 11.6 million tonnes of export coal in January-June 2019, up 6%, year-on-year.
In June, stevedoring company shipped 2.3 million tonnes of export coal, +0.8 million tonnes (+53%) versus June 2018. About 20% of the total monthly volume was loaded through direct “railcar-ship” method without involving coal storage facilities. .
In January-June 2019, Rosterminalugol unloaded 162,372 railcars, 11,560 units more as compared with the same period of the previous year. The share of innovative railcars with up to 27 tonnes per axle grew from 42% to 47%.
During the first half of the year the terminal loaded 163 dry bulk carriers, 15 ships more than in 6M’2018 (148). The number of vessels with cargo capacity exceeding 100,000 tonnes totaled 14 vs 13 a year ago.
On 6 July 2019, Rosterminalugol shipped the 12 millionth tonne of export coal. The milestone tonne was loaded onto AOM Julia (Panamax) which took onboard 73,700 tones of coal product. That was the 170th ship handled by the terminal from the beginning of the year. The vessel is now on the way to one of European ports.
Rosterminalugol is a free access port which exports coal produced by different Russian companies. In 2017, the terminal reached the record high result among Russian coal terminals – 25 million tonnes. In 2018, the company handled 19.9 million tonnes of coal.
