Throughput of port Kavkaz in 6M’2019 fell by 36% Y-o-Y to 12.64 million tonnes
In January-June 2019, port Kavkaz handled 12.640 million tonnes of cargo (-36%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility decreased by 27% to 4.707 million tonnes.
Exports from port Kavkaz surged 2.5 times to 767,000 tonnes while imports plunged by 68% to 36,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 45% to 7.25 million tonnes.
Transshipment of coal grew 3 times to 2.126 million tonnes, sulfur – 4.2 times to 1.402 million tonnes. Meanwhile, transshipment of oil products fell by 16% to 4.015 million tonnes, grain transshipment dropped by 55% to 3.783 million tonnes, inert aggregate and ore – by 46% to 421,000 tonnes.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz fell by 26% to 105,000 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz fell 4.3 times to 2,962 calls.
