The Court of Appeal has upheld a fine imposed by the Leningrad regional Federal Antimonopoly Service on the General Director of Primorsk Trade Port OOO. Upon hearing the administrative case the court ordered the PTP executive to pay a RUB 50 000 administrative fine, the FAS press office reported.
FAS says the stevedoring company (PTP) had violated antimonopoly legislation by impeding access to the market for other economic entities using the anti-competitive document “Guidelines for handling vessels...”, which led to the monopolization in the towing services market.
The court is currently considering yet another appeal of a legal entity over fines imposed by the same regional antitrust regulator, for two episodes of violation of antitrust laws (Clause 9, Part 1, Article 10 and Clause 3, Part 1, Article 10 135-FZ).
For restriction of competition in the port and for imposition of services to its clients by PTP, the stevedore was slapped with a fine of RUB 430 million.
