Hapag-Lloyd to introduce new Middle East-India-Africa Express Service

Hapag-Lloyd has announced newest addition to the Africa product portfolio, the company said in its release.

At the beginning of October 2019, Hapag-Lloyd will introduce the MIAX Service (Middle East-India-Africa Express) which will offer weekly direct sailings between Arabian Gulf, India, Colombo, La Reunion, South Africa and West Africa.

These markets will be well linked to Global Mainline Network via the ports of Jebel Ali and Colombo, offering competitive connectivity to all other markets.

The MIAX will be jointly operated with ONE composing of 9 x 2,800 TEU vessels with 5 ships being deployed by Hapag-Lloyd.

The rotation will be as follows :
Jebel Ali ▪ Mundra ▪ Nhava Sheva ▪ Colombo ▪ La Reunion* ▪ Durban ▪ Cape Town ▪ Tema ▪ Lagos (Tincan and Apapa) ▪ Cape Town ▪ Durban ▪ Jebel Ali

The MIAX service is scheduled to commence towards the end of week 40 in Jebel Ali with first arrival in South and West Africa in week 43 and week 45, respectively.

Consequently, first Africa export voyage would start week 45 / 47 (West Africa / South Africa).
