The website scanex.ru offers a video about the flagship product of SCANEX Group – Scanex Maritime, geoinformation services for maritime industry.
SCANEX has been engaged in creating a web platform of services for satellite monitoring of navigation, engineering and technical safety of marine facilities and water areas from 2016. The project was developed in pursuance of a roadmap of MariNet, the National Technological Initiative (NTI)’s working group.
The video presentation provides a visualization of the most popular tasks that can be accomplished through the services: monitoring of ice conditions and weather in any part of the Earth, modelling of floating objects’ drift, safe shipping in ports. The services can be offered as an independent product or can be integrated into the customers’ geoinformation systems.
“By this video we aspire to provide the most comprehensible explanation of what the geoinformation systems for the maritime industry are. Since it is quite a new way of using satellite-based information, not all specialists working in maritime sphere know the opportunities and advantages offered for their work by introduction of satellite monitoring into their business processes. Among them are, for example, enhanced safety of shipping and economic efficiency”, says Yuliya Zalutskaya, head of the Advertising and PR Department, SCANEX Group.
Special interest to these services is demonstrated by the companies of oil&gas industry. Among the clients of SCANEX Group are PAO Gazprom Neft, PAO LUKOIL, PAO Rosneft, etc. Through application of marine geoservices, oil industry companies can enhance safety of shipping in the Arctic owing to real-time monitoring of ice situation, conduct some activities as part of environmental monitoring, forecast oil drift in case of oil spills and solve other tasks.
