Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 2.2%, year-on-year, to over 203 million tonnes in January-August’2019.
In particular, coal loading grew by 8% to 103.6 million tonnes including 9 million tonnes to southern ports (up 28.7%), 36.6 million tonnes to north-western ports (up 7.7%) and 58 million tonnes to far eastern ports (up 5.5%).
Coal accounts for 51% of exports, oil – for 26.6%, ferrous metal – for 7.2%, fertilizers – for 6.7%.
In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region totaled 85.8 million tonnes (+2.6%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region – about 49.1 million tonnes (-0.9%), to the ports of the Far East Region – over 68 million tonnes (+4.1%).
