Russia reports higher gas export revenue

Russia's proceeds from natural gas exports soared 40.7 percent to around $42.82bn in 2006, the Russian Federal Customs Service reported today according to RBC. Revenue from gas exports went down 2.78 percent to 182bn cubic meters. Meanwhile, gas supplies to countries outside the CIS amounted to 161.88bn cubic meters (against 159.8bn cubic meters in 2005), and 20.2bn to the CIS countries (against 27.4bn cubic meters in 2005).

According to the Russian Industry and Energy Ministry, natural gas output in 2006 advanced 2.4 percent to 656.29bn cubic meters compared to a year earlier. Production of oil with gas condensate is planned to go up 2.08 percent to 490m tonnes in 2007.
