Cargo turnover of Kandalaksha Commercial Seaport up 61.2% in Jan. 07, y-o-y

In January 2007, cargo turnover of Kandalaksha Commercial Seaport grew by 61.2%, year-on-year, to 56.651 thou tons, PortNews IAA learnt from the company. In January the port handled 56.385 thou tons of export cargo (3-fold increase, year-on-year). Export of coal totaled 17.850 thou tons (in January 2006 coal transshipment was not carried out). Transshipment of anthracite grew 2.1-fold to 38.535 thou tons. In January 2007, the company handled 233 tons of local cargo (8.7-fold decrease compared to January 2006).
