As part of Tsentr 2019 maneuvers, the crews of the Caspian flotilla's mine defence ships ensured the safe passage through the minefields of the missile ship Dagestan, as well as other warships from the external raid of the port of Makhachkala to combat training grounds in the Caspian Sea to carry out their intended tasks, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Inshore minesweepers RT-59, RT-181, RT-234 practiced trawling of the waterway along the routes of naval tactical groups. Minesweepers completed tasks of mine support by building a ledge. Modern electromagnetic, acoustic and contact trawls were used to detect anchor, floating, bottom, magnetic, acoustic, induction and other mines.
Detachment strike groups in the Caspian Sea include carriers of Caliber high-precision missile systems - missile ships Dagestan and Grad Sviyazhsk, small artillery ships, minesweepers Grachonok and Raptor anti-sabotage boats, landing boats such as Dugon and Serna, as well as vessels of the auxiliary fleet and support vessels.
In addition to the tactical groups of surface ships and coastal units of the Caspian Flotilla, Tsentr 2019 maneuvers involve surface ships of the Navy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Tsentr 2019 maneuvers is held from September 16 to 21 at the training grounds of Adanak, Totsky, Donguz, Chebarkul, Aleyskiy, Yurga, Ashuluk, Safakulevo, in the territory of the Russian Federation and in the Caspian sea. Episodes of the fight against illegal armed groups will be also conducted at the training grounds of partner states according to separate plans.
Military command and control units and troops of the Central Military District, the Caspian Flotilla of the Southern Military District, part of the forces of the Eastern Military District, the Airborne Troops, long-range and military transport aviation of the Aerospace Forces are involved in the maneuvers, as well as military contingents of People's Republic of China, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of India, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The maneuvers involved in total over 128,000 servicemen, over 20,000 pieces of hardware, some 600 aircraft and up to 15 ships and vessels.
