Floating dock for servicing Postpanamax, Panamax and Afrаmax ships delivered to Klaipeda on 20 September 2019, upon completion of its modernization at the ship repair yard in Naantali, BLRT Grupp says in a press release.
It has been temporarily docked at the facilities of Western Baltija Shipbuilding, a shipyard owned by BLRT Grupp’s until it is put into operation in summer 2020 upon completion of the project on expansion of Klaipeda seaport infrastructure as well as capacity of BLRT Grupp and other port operators.
The floating dock was purchased in June 2016 from Adriatic Shipyard Bijela (Montenegro). It will be installed in Klaipeda, at the Western Shipyard owned by BLRT Grupp. The dock of 235 meters long and 45 meters wide is the largest one in the countries of the Black Sea region. It opens up new opportunities for ship owners and shipyard to carry out repair and modernization projects on Postpanamax, Panamax and Afrаmax ships.
