Russian Railways' network loading down 0.9% to 956.5 million tonnes in 9M’2019

In January-September 2019, the network of Russian Railways loaded 956.5 million tonnes of cargo, down 0.9%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.

In the reporting period, the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 276.4 million tonnes (-0.9%, year-on-year); coke – 8.1 million tonnes (-1.9%); crude and oil products - 172.7 million tonnes (-1.9%); iron and manganese ore – 89.2 million tonnes (+3.2%); ferrous metal – 55.6 million tonnes (-5.4%); ferrous metal scrap – 11.4 million tonnes (-1.6%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 45.5 million tonnes (+3.1%); cement – 20.8 million tonnes (+5.5%); timber – 32.4 million tonnes (-6.8%); grain – 14.7 million tonnes (-26.2%); construction cargo – 95.3 million tonnes (-0.4%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 14.7 million tonnes (-3.1%); chemicals and soda – 19.5 million tonnes (-1.5%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 26.7 million tonnes (+0.6%).

From the beginning of 2019, freight turnover totaled 1,946.9 billion tariff ton-km (+0.9%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 2,474.6 billion ton-km  (+0.8%).

In September 2019, Russian Railways’ loading totaled 106 million tonnes, + 1%, year-on-year.

Freight turnover in September 2019 increased by 1.3% to 212.6 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run grew by 0.8% to 269 billion ton-km.
