Russian Railways to carry 30 million tons of oil to China annually
Russian railways are ready to carry annually 30 million tonnes of oil to China, Vadim Morozov, the first vice president of the Russian Railways Company, told reporters in Irkutsk on Tuesday, RZD-Partner reports.
"We are ready to carry 30 million tonnes of oil to China,” Morozov said. "It will be good if this happens; it not, then we hope the market will form large volumes of timber, ore and also oil products”, he said.
"We have considerably increased the capacities for transportation to China via Zabaikalsk. Much work is still ahead there this year, but even now it is possible to carry there 50 percent more cargoes than so far. The volume of 18 million tonnes was carried in 2006, so 25-27 million tonnes of cargoes can be carried now,” V. Morozov added, reports ITAR – TASS.
