The RUSAL/SUAL/Glencore merger approved
The Federal antitrast service approved the deal to merge the assets of RUSAL, SUAL and Glencore, the company informed.
By the present the permissions were provided by EC, Ukraine and Turkey.
This is expected to be the first Russian transnational corporation as a world leader in this sector.
The agreement was signed in Oct. 2006. RUSAL will have 66% in the new company; SUAL - 22%, Glencore - 12%.
The joined structure will involve the assets for the production of bauxites, alumina, etc. The annual output is assumed to reach 4mln ton of aluminium and 11mln ton of alumina. After the ingration the company will cover 12.5% of the world primary aluminium market and 16% of the alumina production.
