In January-October 2019, the network of Russian Railways loaded 1.66 million tonnes of cargo, down 0.7%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period, the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 309.1 milion tonnes (-0.5%, year-on-year); coke – 9 milion tonnes (-2.6%); crude and oil products – 191.6 milion tonnes (-2%); iron and manganese ore – 99.9 milion tonnes (+3.7%); ferrous metal – 61.3 milion tonnes (-5.7%); ferrous metal scrap – 12.7 milion tonnes (-4.2%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 50.5 milion tonnes (+3.2%); cement – 23.2 milion tonnes (+5.1%); timber – 35.5 milion tonnes (-7.4%); grain – 17.1 milion tonnes (-23.5%); construction materials – 106.1 milion tonnes (+0.1%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 16.4 milion tonnes (-3%); chemicals and soda – 21.6 milion tonnes (-1.1%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 29.7 milion tonnes (+0.4%).
From the beginning of 2019, freight turnover totaled 2,169.1 billion tariff ton-km (+0.8%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 2,756.6 billion ton-km (+0.7%).
In October, Russian Railways’ loading totaled 109.5 milion tonnes, up 1%, year-on-year.
Freight turnover in October declined by 0.2%, year-on-year, to 222 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run - 281.7 billion ton-km (-0.7%).
