Russian Railways: Loading of export cargo bound for domestic ports up 3% to 254.4 million tonnes in 10M’19

Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 3%, year-on-year, to over 254.4 million tonnes in January-October’2019.

In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region totaled 108.4 million tonnes (+3.7%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region – about 61.2 million tonnes (-1.6%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 84.7 million tonnes (+5.7%).

In particular, coal loading grew by 8.7%, year-on-year, to 129.4 million tonnes including 11.9 million tonnes to southern ports (up 33.8%), 45.6 million tonnes to north-western ports (up 5.9%) and 71 million tonnes to far eastern ports (up 7.1%).

Coal accounts for 50.9% of exports, oil – for 26.5%, ferrous metal – for 7%, fertilizers – for 6.9%.
