Throughput of Odessa Commercial Seaport (Ukraine) up 41% in Jan. 07, y-o-y

In January 2007, cargo turnover of Odessa Commercial Seaport grew by 41% - to 2.89 million tons, the port’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Transshipment of dry cargo grew by 25.4% - to 1.21 million tons, including 0.87 million tons of general cargo (+13.4%), 0.34 million tons of bulk cargo (+71.5%). Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo grew by 54.3% to 1.68 million tons. The port registered considerable growth in transshipment of oil, containers, ferrous metal and ore.  In 2006, the port’s cargo turnover grew by 4.3% - to 28.1 million tons. The port’s net profit grew by 5% to 127.5 million hryvnias.
