K' Line unit deploys winged trailers in Guangdong
"K" LINE group company, Ka Fung, has started deploying winged trailers within China's Guangdong province.
This additional service is operated by Ka Fung's wholly-owned international forwarding company, Shenzhen Jia Feng Shipping Co.
Shenzhen Jia Feng Shipping's fleet comprises 30 self-owned tractors as well as chassis, 10 breakbulk lorries and two new winged trailers, a "K" Line statement said.
Utilisation of the winged trailers is expected to shorten delivery times as they offer a higher level of efficiency in loading and unloading goods because their doors open on both sides. Winged trailers are fitted with global positioning satellite technology and also have bonded registration, which means they are authorised to handle bonded cargoes and are capable of performing milk run services.
Ka Fung (Agencia De Navegacao Ka Fung Lda.) was established in Macau in 1984. It has long been a sub-agent of "K" Line (Hong Kong) Ltd., handling shipping operations in both Macau and the Pearl River Delta.
