“Norden” today announced the sale of the crude oil tanker Nordatlantic to a German buyer for takeover during March this year. “Norden” also reported a profit from the sale on a sum of USD 30.1 million. That means that the Nordatlantic has been a real golden bird for the Copenhagen-based company. The tanker was delivered from Sumitomo Group in Japan in 2001 for a sum of USD 35.0 million. Since then the tanker has been very profitable with a steady five years timecharter at a level of 23,500 USD with operation costs around 14,000 USD. The tanker has been sold to a German K/G for USD 59.5 million or close to double up on the building price in 2001.
