Cargo turnover of Mariupol Commercial Seaport (Ukraine) up 45.3% in Jan. 07, y-o-y

In January 2007, cargo turnover of Mariupol Commercial Seaport totaled 1.54 million tons (+45.3%, year-on-year), the port’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Export grew by 54.9% - to 1.18 million tons, import – by 20% - to 12 thou tons, transit – by 21.2% - to 0.37 million tons. Transshipment volumes grew owing mostly to export of metal cargo, coal etc. In 2006, throughput of Mariupol Commercial Seaport grew by 7.1% - to 1.58 million tons, while its net profit grew by 23.8% - to 86 million hryvnias.
