In January 2007, the port of Vanino (Khabarovsk region) handled 511.2 thou tons of cargo (+7.6%, year-on-year), Interfax reports according to RZD-Partner. Export totaled 300.3 thou tons (58.7% of total cargo turnover), import – 53.6 thou tons. Transshipment of coastal trade cargo amounted to 27.7 thou tons, ferry transportation of cargo totaled 129.6 thou tons (Vanino-Kholmsk line in Sakhalin region).
According to the press center, cargo turnover of the Port Vanino OJSC grew by 4.4% in 2006 – to 6.429 thou tons. Container turnover totaled 26.117 TEU (-18.8%, year-on-year). The Government controls 55% of the company’s authorized capital (73.33% of ordinary shares).
