Transportation of East-Siberian railway totals 6.6 million tons in Jan. 07, y-o-y

From the beginning of the year East-Siberian railway transported about 6.6 million tons of cargo, ESR’s PR service reports. The railway’s loading exceeded plan by almost 6%. The highest results were demonstrated in transportation of construction materials - +87% against plan, timber (+27%). Transportation of coal, ferrous ore, non-ferrous metal, chemicals and paper also increased in January 2007. Loading of industrial raw materials exceeded plan by over 2-fold (in 2006, loading totaled 72 thou tons while in January, 2007 it amounted to 167 thou tons).
