Indonesian ferryboat carrying over 350 passengers catches fire
A major fire has been raging aboard an Indonesian ferryboat in the Java Sea, Indonesian Navy officials told Thursday, Itar-Tass reports. According to preliminary information, the vessel carries over 350 people. There have been no reports about the fate of passengers and crew.
The fire on board the Levina 1 ferryboat that was bound from the capital Jakarta that is located on the Java Island for Bangka Island, emerged soon after dawn. The vessel was some 80 kilometres from Jakarta port at the moment.
