Maersk upgrades Asia-Red Sea service

Maersk Line will introduce a new extended version of its Asia-Red Sea service (FM5) in March.
A company statement said the benefits offered by FM5 will include significantly improved transit time from China to Aqaba (Jordan) by up to seven days and a direct service from east and south China to Salalah (Oman), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), and Aqaba. In addition there will be more port calls on both the westbound and eastbound service.
The FM5 service will be launched with the first westbound call in Ningbo on March 6, with additional port calls at Hong Kong and Aqaba. On the eastbound service, the ships will add calls at Malaysia's Port Klang and Tanjung Pelepas.
