The Danish Police is now investigating the cause of the grounding of the Bahamian-flagged bulk carrier Coronis. The vessel grounded in Øresund in the early hours of Monday on a voyage in ballast, bound for Muuga, Estonia. The bulk carrier, which was sailing without a pilot, hit the bottom close to Nordre Røse off Kastrup. So far there has been no leakage of oil. The 74,381-DWT Coronis was delivered in January 2006 from Hudong Shipyard in Shanghai to the present owner, Greek-controlled Diana Shipping Services of Piraeus.
