Frontline announces profits of USD 516 million in 2006
Frontline had profits of USD 516 million on revenues of USD 1.58 billion last year, against USD 606.8 million on USD 1.51 billion a year earlier. Operating cost increased to USD 857.1 million last year from USD 717.2 million in 2005, Revenues lost through dry-docking was about the same at around USD 134.0 million. Average daily time charter equivalent rates for the company’s VLCCs and suezmax’es fell to USD 48,000 and USD 31,200 respectively, against USD 59,800 and USD 40,000 a year earlier. However, the breakeven cost is comparatively low at USD 30,200 for VLCCs and USD 22,600 for suezmax’es. To minimise the risk 34 per cent of he complete fleet is on time charter so far in the first quarter.
