On February, 10, the third dry-cargo ship project RSD17, built for Palmali Group, was launched at Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, MNP Group. The vessel was named 'Shirvan".
Under the contract five vessels of the project will be built at the Yard. The lead ship - "Mirzaga Khalilov" – was handed over to the customer in November, 2006, the second vessel - "Ismayl Shikhly" – was launched at the end of December, 2006.
Dry-cargo ship project RSD17 DWT 6,270 mt of the restricted navigation area is designed for transportation of all types of general cargoes, including 20-ft and 40-ft international standard containers, metal, grain, lumber, coal, bulky and heavy cargoes. Maximum length of the vessel is 121.7 m, breadth – 16.7 m, depth – 6.20 m, draught – 5.06 m. Total capacity of three cargo tanks is 9,370 cubic m, capacity of ballast tanks Is 3,120 cubic m, number of containers – 234 pcs. Sea endurance of the vessel is 20/25 days, speed – 11.5 knots, crew – 12/14 persons.
The project of the dry-cargo ships is designed by Maritime Engineering Bureau (Odessa, Ukraine). Class is КМ*ЛУ2 I А1 of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, meets the requirements of international conventions.
