Throughput of the port of Tallinn up 16% in Feb. 07, y-o-y

In February 2007, AS Tallinna Sadam (the port of Tallinn) handled 3.578 million tons of cargo. In January-February it handled 7.491 million tons of cargo (+16%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. Volume of loose dry cargo grew by 48% to 2.182 million tons. Transshipment of coal increased 1.3 million tons (+34%), grain – 423, while in 2006 transshipment of grain totaled just 34 thou tons. Transshipment of oil products grew by 8.4% to 4.427 million tons, ro-ro cargo – by 14% to 528.3 thou tons. In January-February the port handled 24.376 thou TEU (+5.1%, year-on-year). Over the reported period the port handled 509 cargo vessels and 774 passenger vessels.
