Vinashin (Vietnam) to build six transnational express vessels
The Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) announced its plan to build six express vessels to cover the north-south route.
The 160m-long ships will be built at an estimated cost of US $1.5-2 billion.
Each ship will be capable of transporting 2,000 passengers, reaching a speed of 29 nautical miles per hour.
The first vessel is scheduled to be built abroad this year while the rest will be built in Vietnam.
