Cargo turnover of the port of Temryuk up 55% in Jan.-Feb. 07, y-o-y

In January-February, 2007, cargo turnover of the port of Temryuk grew by 55.28%, year-on-year, to 161.62 thou tons, PortNews IAA learnt from Taman branch of Rosmorport FSUE. Over the reported period the port exported 146.68 thou tons of cargo (+44.57%, year-on-year), including transshipment of sawn goods - 53.419 thou tons, round timber –4.794 thou tons, chemical cargo – 31.144 thou tons. In the two-month period the port handled 1.040 thou tons of grain, 25.739 thou tons of metal scrap, 8.163 thou tons of fertilizers, 22.393 thou tons of non-ferrous metal and 14.945 thou tons of general cargo. In January-February, import totaled 14.94 thou tons (5.7-fold growth, year-on-year). Over the reported period the port handled 72 vessels (+56.5%, year-on-year).

Temryuk Commercial Seaport is located at Taman coast of the Sea of Azov. Total length of the port’s berths is 1200 running meters. Major type of cargo handled at the port is the general cargo: round timber, timber materials, metal, as well as out-of-gage load and foodstuffs. The port accepts river-and-sea-going vessels with up to 5000 tons of displacement.
