In January-February 2007, the port of Liepaja (Latvia) handled 621.9 thou tons of cargo (-2.5%, year-on-year), the company reports according to RZD-Partner. The port handled 299.4 thou tons of dry cargo (+12.5%) including 170.3 thou tons of grain and products (+9.5%); 109 thou tons of liquid bulk cargo (-14.9%) including 27.8 thou tons of crude oil (+26.5%). Transshipment of general cargo decreased by 12.3% - to 213.5 thou tons including 123.7 thou tons of ferrous metal and ferrous metal goods (+14.4%), 62.1 thou tons of wood (-41.2%). The highest results in the port of Liepaja are those of Liepajas osta LM - 204.2 thou tons (+5.8%).
