Ningbo-Zhoushan January-February volume grows 150pc to 1.37m TEU

From January to February, the Ningbo-Zhoushan harbour lifted 1.37 million TEU, an 150.8 per cent year-on-year increase, making it the fastest container port on the mainland.
The second fastest growing port was Guangzhou, whose volume jumped 150.2 per cent to 1.34 million TEU in the same period.
Shanghai, Shenzhen and Qingdao were the three biggest, which lifted 3.84 million TEU, 2.72 million TEU and 1.41 million TEU respectively. The port of Ningbo-Zhoushan and Guangzhou ranked fourth and fifth.
Container throughput of major ports in China totalled to 16.04 million TEU during this period, up 30.2 per cent.
