Port of La Rochelle introduces cold ironing

The Grand Port Maritime de La Rochelle has announced that it is now equipped with twelve new electrical connections to power ships at the quayside – cold ironing, Ports Europe reports.

Ships will now be able to switch off their engines whilst docked, reducing emissions and noise pollution.
