Port of Dresvyanka (Pechorskaya Guba, Barents Sea) to be built by 2011

The port of Dresvyanka will be built by 2011 at the east coast of Pechorskaya Guba (Barents Sea), PortNews IAA learnt from Media-center “Russian Industry”. The construction started in 2006. As of today, the construction of a number of priority building and structures has been finalized as well as some engineering facilities. The owner is Naryanmarneftegaz OJSC. Volume of investments has not been disclosed. By 2011, there will be four berths with total length of 480 meters including a berth for oil products and a specialized berth for large-size blocks. The project envisions construction of open and closed warehouses, fuel storage farm, production-and-support facilities.

Throughout summer navigation periods cargo delivered by sea will be accumulated at the storage facilities till frosts. In winter, after temporary winter roads are ready the cargo will be delivered by road transport to the facilities of the oil and gas field. The port will be equipped with necessary and sufficient means of communications including internal fiber-optic link, satellite service, helicopters. The port’s major purpose is supply of fuel, equipment, construction and other cargo needed for development of Yuzhno-Khylchuyusk oil-and-gas field.
