The eight Russian seafarers that have been stranded on the general cargo ship Lillian in New Ross, Ireland for ten weeks have now returned home. It was on May 13 that the ship was detained after an inspection revealed 15 structural deficiencies and that the crew were not paid according to the ITF-agreement held onboard. The salaries were close to halved, the working hours doubled and their holidays rates halved. The ship, built in 1977, has now been sold at an auction and the crew has been paid the USD 9,600 owned to them.
