Shekou Container Terminal has announced the launch of a new container shipping service from the beginning of the month, with the New India Express (NIX) starting to call at the port.
The KMTC Portkelang made a port of call at SCT on August 2. The new service is jointly operated by KMTC and CNC.
The NIX deploys five 1,100- to 1,700 TEU vessels with KMTC contributing four of the ships and CNC providing one. The port rotation for this weekly service from China to India is: Xingang, Qingdao, Busan, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Port Klang, Singapore, Hong Kong, Busan and Xingang. The NIX makes stops at SCT every Wednesday.
