Guggenheim Global Infrastructure (GGI) has purchased a 33% interest in India-based Vikram Logistic & Maritime Services (VLMS).
With offices in McLean, Virginia, GGI is an affiliate of Guggenheim Partners, LLC, a diversified financial services firm with offices serving the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The investment broadens GGI’s involvement in meeting the growing infrastructure needs in India beyond the company’s existing investments in the energy sector
“We believe that India's trade volumes will expand at a multiple of the growth trend in world trade and that Vikram is exceptionally well-positioned to serve the growing shipping and logistics requirements of companies operating in India,” said GGI president & CEO Thomas Tribone.
Headquartered in Bangalore, VLMS is an integrated transportation and logistics company with an exclusive concession for container operations at the Port of Karwar on the west coast of India. VLMS is also developing container freight and terminal facilities across India.
