In January-June 2007, transport companies of St. Petersburg (without railways) increased turnover by 0.8%, year-on-year, to 33.7 billion t-km, Federal Service of State Statistics in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region reports according to PRIME-TASS.
In St. Petersburg, volume of cargo carried by transport companies (without railways) totaled 52.5 million tones (similar to that of January-June 2006). The decrease was demonstrated by pipeline sector (-2%, year-on-year), while sea transport increased its turnover by 23.7%, internal water transport – by 9.6%, motor transport – by 5.5%, air transport – by 5.3%.
