Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok starts operation of car terminal

Specialized motor car terminal has been put into operation by Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok, the port’s press center reports. According to preliminary estimates, the terminal’s capacity will total some 7,000 units at the first phase while by the end of the first operation year it is to reach 10,000 units. Vladivostok car terminal is a synthesis of two projects operated by Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok OJSC – “Reconstruction and modernization of berths 3 and 4” and "Construction of a multilevel parking". The functions of a temporary storage warehouse, as well as logistics and stevedoring functions will be performed by one terminal. It is operated by Vladivostok Car Terminal LLC specializing in unloading, storing and forwarding of vehicles. In future it plans to become a customs broker as well. The terminal’s purpose is to integrate all the procedures related to vehicle shipment (from unloading in the port of Vladivostok to its shipment by railway) under one roof. It is to transport vehicles to other cities of Russia and CIS.
