Nakhodka Fishing Port to be redesigned for container transshipment

Nakhodka Fishing Port OJSC is to be redesigned for container transshipment, the company’s shareholders decide according to IA REGNUM. The project for reconstruction is to be ready by autumn 2007. The main emphasis is on construction and fitting with container terminal equipment. According to Yuri Podgornykh, Chairman of the company’s BOD, the port’s transshipment of food-stuffs does not exceed 10% including 4.5% of fish. Today the port handles mainly timber, metal and cars. As of today, it is planned to build one container terminal as “it will require large financial investments”.
